Angered by the distance
Fearful of the truth
Not nearly as strong as you thought you were
So now you must deal with your self-made truce
Is that love in the back of your mind?
Pretending you don’t see it
You still have to face yourself when darkness falls on the skies
And there lies no one at your bedside—
You passed up true love for pride.
Hidden behind an identity you outgrew,
Evolution continued but you decided to wear the same old shoes
Didn’t want to face the news
But a different sound came when you sang the blues.
