window shopping with my words

By Claudio Roberto Veale

during the day, a raw voice

my fingers secrete a milky substance
on command

i remember holding a dandelion shoot, broken
between my secret fingers
the dirthonest sourness of a plant
taking up space in my mind.

how, no matter what words i use,
the picture comes out blurred.

Claudio Roberto Veale lives with his family in South Texas.
